Washington Redskins

Tydus Winans Born on July 26, 1972, and related to gospel singers B.B. and C.C. Winans, Tydus Winans was named after the Biblical "Titus".

After playing at Carson High, Tydus then went on to Fresno State, where - with great speed and the ability to make big catches - he led the team in receiving with 42 passes for 623 yards and three touchdowns as a senior.

He twice earned Honorable Mention All-WAC honors as a junior and senior, and caught the WAC title-clinching pass with 15 seconds remaining in a 1992 game. *

Tydus Winans Winans was selected by the Washington Redskins in the third round of the 1994 NFL Draft
(68th pick overall), and played with the team as wide receiver for two years, during which he started in 23 games, made 23 receptions for a gain of 421 yards, and scored two touchdowns.

In his very first pro game, Tydus made
a diving, parallel-to-the-ground,
one- handed catch for a 29-yard gain.
